Abstract: The current reliance of the Internet and multimedia technologies in medical domain has boosted the e-diagnosis applications such as telemedicine, tele-consultancy and tele-surgery.The sharing of medical information over network makes it important to protect medical information from unauthorized access and disclosure. The prime objective of this dissertation is to investigate how to protect the medical images and EPR data and recover the original image and data using the technique of Dig- ital Watermarking. In order to facilitate sharing and remote handling of medical images, the techniques to solve the problem of copyright protection and content authentication are proposed using robust watermarking. This dissertation em- phasis on the study of medical image watermarking methods for protecting and authenticating medical data. Additionally, it covers algorithm for application of watermarking technique on Non Region of Interest (NROI) of the medical image preserving Region of Interest (ROI).The watermarking algorithms proposed wa- termarking technique in the transform domain.
