Abstract: The main objective of this project is to design an antenna at 900MHz frequency band and see the S11 parameter after optimization of the dimensions of the antenna in MATLAB using differential optimization method. This antenna can be further fabricated on a leather belt of known dimensions using copper tape for the patch and ground plane and FR4 lossy material as a substrate. We tried to us e leather as a substrate but the losses were far bigger. Once this antenna is designed it can be further made manually and then connected to a rectifier for conversion of the AC into DC and possibly an antenna array of the designed antenna can be used to harvest the required power to drive any small device such as a portable GPS.
