Abstract: Our goal is to make the planet a cleaner and safer place to live. We plan to accomplish this goal by reducing the CO2 emissions from the production of Ordinary Portland Cement by replacing the cement content in concrete with fly ash which is a pozzolanic material, a by-product of coal. Approximately 1 tonne of CO2 is released into the atmosphere during the production of 1 tonne of cement. More than 170 million MT of fly ash is generated every year. Presently 65,000 acres of land is occupied by ash ponds and as per the Ministry of Environment & Forest, 30% of ash is being used in fillings, embankments, construction, etc. We have used Fly Ash as a partial replacement of OPC and studied the strength of concrete and changes in properties of cement. i
