dc.description.abstractThe project entitled as IMAGE BASED SECURITY SYSTEM is a system developed for detecting and recognizing human faces from the images degraded with noise, face recognition algorithms .This security system is one proposed system which requires no human interaction with any sort of high-tech equipment as in the case of fingerprint, signature, thumb impression etc. . Principal Component Analysis, Linear Discriminant Analysis and Successive Mean Quantization Transform have demonstrated their success in face detection, recognition, and tracking. These subspace methods are based on second order statistics of the image set.We have implemented these algorithms and compared the performance to find the algorithm best suited for our application. The basic idea behind this project is to provide a good, efficient method for detecting human faces and recognizing them with the database provided.en_US
