dc.description.abstractInvasiveaspergillosiscausedbyAspergillusspecies(Aspergillusfumigatus,A.flavus,andA.terreus)islife-threateninginfectionsinimmunocompromisedpatients.UnderstandingtheinnateandadaptiveimmuneresponseparticularlyT-helpercells(TH-cells)againsttheseAspergillusspeciesandhowthedifferentsub-setofTH-cellsareregulatedbydifferentiatingcytokinesatprimarytargetorgansitelikelung,kidneyandbrainisofgreatsignificancetohumanhealth.ThisreviewfocusesonpresentationofAspergillusthroughAntigenpresentingcells(APCs)tothenaiveCD4+T-cellsinthehost.Theproductionofdifferentiating/effectorcytokinesthatactivatefollowingTH-cells,e.g.,TH1,TH2,TH9,andTH17hasbeenreportedinassociationoraloneinallergicorinvasiveaspergillosis.Chemokines(CXCL1,CXCL2,CCL1,andCCL20)andtheirreceptorsassociatedtotheseTH-cellshavealsobeenobservedininvasiveaspergillosis.Thus,furtherstudyoftheseTH-cellsininvasiveaspergillosisandotherelementsofadaptiveimmuneresponsewithAspergillusspeciesarerequiredinordertohaveabetterundersandingofhostresponseforsaferandeffectivetherapeuticoutcome.en_US
