Abstract: New quaternary glassy compositions Ge16Se52Te32 – xSbx (x = 0, 2, 4, 6, 8) have been synthesized using melt quench technique. We have determined various physical parameters i.e. average coordination number, floppy modes, lone pair electrons, average heat of atomization, density, molar volume, compactness and cohesive energy. It is observed that on increasing Sb content density, cohesive energy, average heat of atomization and compactness increases while molar volume decreases. The chemical bond approach has been used to calculate the cohesive energy of the samples under investigation.
